Mr. Athar Qureshi

Athar Joined the Muna Noor Group from the UK in March 2020 and has been focused on driving the group forward through several major initiatives as the COO. These include re-structuring the group companies for more agility and client focus, implementation of critical systems and processes to support operations, recruitment of high-quality staff and identifying and executing acquisition and merger opportunities. Although the pandemic has impacted the Oman market for the period since his arrival, major changes are already delivering significant positive results. Ongoing changes will ensure the Group continues to move with the times and market and deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients.

Athar comes with a wealth of experience gained from a varied career history. A graduate Mechanical Engineer from University College London, he spent several years in commercial roles with Toshiba on power projects in the Middle East. He then moved into the Consulting environment where he worked with Railtrack and QintetiQ, both companies were prepared for and had hugely successful IPOs. Athar’s consulting experience also includes stints at IBM, Coopers & Lybrand and PwC where he was part of transformational projects with clients such as Fiat, Texaco, BBC and BP to name just a few.  He was also involved a world’s first when he was part of the core team that led to the deregulation of the UK domestic electricity market and the resulting competition it created. Prior to his arrival in Oman, Athar had been working in the Private Equity and Venture Capital space for a number of years helping investors ensure high ROI by directly working with companies on behalf of the investors and was part of several very successful exits with companies such as Zanox and Facelift, both in the social media marketing vertical.
